MeadWestvaco

Making all the right moves

The Monument Challenge:

When this international leader in specialty packaging relocated its corporate headquarters from Stamford, Connecticut to Richmond, Virginia, they needed to fill hundreds of positions within a critical period of time. Plus, the company's recruitment department was being restructured to a centralized model supporting global lines of business.

Lots of jobs, not a lot of time: That's the kind of challenge we love.

“The greatest compliment I can give Monument is their seamless integration into our team and corporate environment. Both hiring managers and candidates praise our effort without realizing they were working through a third party. We couldn't be happier in our partnership with Monument.”

VP, Talent Management

The Monument Solution:

Within days of being selected by MWV to spearhead their recruitment process outsourcing effort, we were fully engaged in rebuilding their corporate recruitment department and supporting their exempt hiring for North America. We quickly deployed a team of our recruiting consultants to work on-site, creating a seamless relationship with their HR department. By partnering with the company to develop optimal strategies, processes and tools, we were able to quickly identify and attract candidates of the highest quality from across the country.

We also assumed ownership of their college recruitment, successfully targeting undergraduate and graduate programs at leading national universities to keep MWV's new candidate pipeline filled for the future.

The Monument Delivery:

Just two years after moving to Richmond, MeadWestvaco is running stronger than ever. Monument continues its highly successful partnership and delivered more than 1000 new associates, as well as helped the company redesign and enhance MeadWestvaco's recruitment processes. Equally important, with their cost-per-hire just a fraction of traditional contingent models and far below national benchmarks, we've helped strengthen the company's bottom line.
