Rodney Ashby

Rodney Ashby, Principal, co-owns delivery for Monument Consulting, offering executive leadership and oversight over all of Monument’s RPO engagements.  His role extends into the business development process serving as Monument’s subject matter expert in recruiting strategies, process design and project execution.

Rodney’s background of success started on the hard court as a Division I starting Center and Captain of his alma mater, Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also earned his B.S. Degree.  His basketball career continued beyond his collegiate days and beyond the U.S. borders playing professional basketball in Brazil and touring through Europe playing against the Harlem Globetrotters.

After coaching back at VCU, Rodney hung up his size 15 high tops and moved into the world of recruitment.  Early in this new career Rodney knew he had found his professional passion, rising rapidly through the ranks of the nation’s largest IT and Communications Staffing Firm.  Rodney then received an opportunity to help grow an emerging national recruiting consulting company where he served as their Senior Recruiting Consultant and Senior Project Manager for the firm’s largest engagements. 

After several years in leadership roles with the firm, Rodney’s entrepreneurial instincts led him to found his own recruiting consulting company, Cornerstone Resource Group (CRG).  CRG delivered full life-cycle recruiting services to some of Virginia’s leading employers.  In October of 2005, Monument merged with CRG immediately solidifying the company’s place as the leading provider of RPO solutions in the region.

Rodney and his wife Heather have two children, Madison (2) and their newest addition Christian, was born this November.
