Business Systems Analyst III

Location: Richmond, VA preferable, but Remote is an option

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Business Systems Analyst III to facilitate implementation and enhancement of Vendor Management Systems (VMS) for Monument’s clients. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will work as part of a project team, leading tasks such as requirements documentation, solution design, system configuration, and QA testing.  The Senior BSA will become a subject matter expert, consulting with internal and external stakeholders to determine the best use of the VMS application in various business scenarios.

The Senior BSA will implement the MSP solution developed by our business development team, which brings together our client with staffing suppliers and their contractors across the following work streams:

  • Policies & Procedures development in concert with Monument’s account management team
  • Workflow and approval chain design
  • VMS configuration and testing
  • Data collection, validation and loading into the VMS
  • Training materials creation, and at times, conduct training
  • VMS Financial Configuration

Client implementations typically last 3-4 months, and a Senior BSA may work on 1-3 projects at a time. A Senior BSA will also work to support Monument’s active client base by providing post go live support for VMS issues and configuration change requests. Post go live support is provided in addition to MSP implementations and various consulting projects. All Senior BSAs are encouraged to take part in departmental strategic initiatives as well.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with an assigned Project Manager to present best practices and workflows to client, and appropriately responds to clients’ needs.
  • Leads or participates in business requirements gathering sessions and design workshops with client
  • Conducts client facing demonstrations in the VMS
  • Ensures that client configuration and business requirements documents are accurate, complete, and signed off by client
  • Configures test and production VMS environments to business requirements
  • Creates test scripts, stages testing data for, and leads thorough system and regression testing of test environment configuration to identify gaps
  • Collaborates and consults with resources from the VMS partner as they configure test and production VMS environments, prepare and upload data, and conduct demonstrations
  • Responds to client requests by staging data in test environment and performing appropriate tests to determine the best solution and communicates results back to client proposing alternative solutions where appropriate
  • Creates test scripts, stages testing data for, and leads User Acceptance Testing (UAT) digitally or on site with client
  • Analyzes and identifies gaps in large data sets and ensuring data matches required formatting (Cleans raw data sets, formats and runs test uploads in VMS, reviews error logs, and resolves discrepancies accordingly)
  • Actively contributes to product knowledge through self-study, meeting attendance, and project participation
  • Provides VMS technical support and helps execute changes requests for existing clients

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services, or related course of study preferred
  • 5+ years software configuration or support experience, preferably within a technology organization supporting web hosted applications
  • 5+ years in corporate setting
  • Demonstrated background in VMS Configuration (Fieldglass, Beeline, VNDLY, etc.)
  • Demonstrated background in building and executing VMS uploads (Fieldglass, Beeline, VNDLY, etc.)
  • Solution architecture experience in consulting on and designing a VMS system
  • Ability to manipulate, clean, and analyze large Excel-based data sets
  • Advanced Excel analytical skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and Index-Match.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, as well as a variety of Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome etc.). Visio a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to professionally interact with clients and internal teams
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and manage client expectations with the willingness and ability to take direction and coaching from teammates
  • Technical aptitude, strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • “Out of the box”, quick thinking: able to ask for help and feels comfortable approaching others; utilizes documentation and best practices well
  • Ability to learn complex concepts and subjects under a variety of conditions including formal and informal training as well as on the job coaching and through trial and error. Participates in self-study and active learning with the goal of becoming a product subject matter expert
  • Demonstrated detail-orientation with strong organizational skills including the ability to self-manage time and tasks
  • Ad hoc report development skills
  • Ability to travel 20%
  • Management and leadership experience a nice to have
